The Infamous Arches

When in the desert, one must create one's own shade....Bev's pink umbrella came in handy for the hike and the lunch. Delicate Arch is about a 2 hour hike from the road, hot and high, but well worth the effort. In one of the shots, you will see the beginning of an arch with erosion of the sandstone....Bev, of course, decided to help one of the arches while exercising her bicep. Did you notice the field of phalixes (sp??) behind her on the road up. The shot of the balancing slice of rock is intriguing.
The hike up to Delicate Arch almost finished us in the heat, Dave did the hike almost 10 years ago and claims it wasn't as tough back then. If any readers run into Shaun Hewitt, from the Region of Peel, tell him Dave thought of him as they laboriously trudged up the sliprock.
BTW, Bev has always wanted to see the Arches, little did she imagine that she would spend her 61st Sept. 5th birthday in the Arches National Park....wow.
