Brice Canyon in Utah

We stopped for lunch in Red Canyon, which offered a peek at what we would be driving into. When we saw Brice Canyon, we were stunned....and I have to add that Utah is the most beautiful State we have visited so far!! The spectacle of stunning rock shapes simply cannot be conveyed. Intricate spires and formations (they call them "hoodoos") simply can't be imagined. Expand some of the pictures to get a better look at the details. We walked some of the trails, with the Navajo one being the most enjoyable. You get to go down into the canyon on a switchback walk. Sunrises and sunsets show incredible colours on the formations. It almost looks like a different planet....and the sky....wowie, the stars are plentiful, not what a Torontonian can see.
We camped at both Zion and Brice Canyons, but wowie is it cold at night. Brice was at 8,000 feet and it was 38 degrees F............we wore all our clothes and still froze. We decided henceforth that we'd not camp higher than 5,000 feet, hence we're hooked up at a motel tonight.
