Mt Robson

Today was perhaps the toughest day of the trip so far. We travelled from Jasper to Prince George BC in the rain and fog. The temperature ranged between 5 & 8 degrees C (about 43 F for you Americans reading this blog), depending on the elevation. Due to the heavy rain we could not do much more than 80 km/hr so the trip took most of the day. When the fog lifted occasionally we caught a glimpse of the newly fallen snow on the mountain tops. We went by Mt. Robson which is the highest Canadian Rockie, standing princely tall at 12,972 ft. With the fresh snow fall thoughts turned to skiing but it is far too early to think about snow activities. Notice Bev's gear....rain pants, a rain coat, rain boots over her riding boots, rain gloves over her gloves and her trusty neopreme mask. We looked like we had just landed on the planet turning heads whenever we entered a restaurant to get a hot coffee or soup. We're off to Hwy 27 tomorrow, the original gold rush trail and then on down to north of Whistler.
