Cody to Yellowstone

.

.

OK (sorry to you readers, but couldn't get to a connection for awhile....) Soooo, after blowing the fire ash off the bikes in Cody (presumably from the Red Lodge fire) we set off for Yellowstone (for those of you who don't know, Yellowstone is actually the caldera of a volcano). Along the road we saw signs "beware, active fire ahead" and fire "camps" at the side of the road for firefighters.....lots of different trucks from different locations, tents, etc., and groups of firefighters along the road, we could see billowing smoke in the lower mountain which was very sad indeed. We stopped for breakfast at Buffalo Bill's hunting lodge, the Pahaska Tepee, and then continued to the top of Silvan Pass at 8530 ft. Again we encountered patches of remaining snow. We included a picture of the Yellowstone fire from across Yellowstone Lake.
